Migrating from esa support group was created by Lacey
I have migrated from esa support group to uc my daughter did it online I applied a few weeks before cut of date .. I waited over 6 weeks to hear during this that time I received 2 esa payments about a £100 lower I think as I was told to inform esa I was receiving sdp a was now claiming uc .. I then got a message on online journal that I would receive basic uc £400.14 plus a transitional payment but it included no disability element .. I had a loan payment to be paid back at £16 + a month
The took the esa payments out of my claim plus one loan payment and awarded me £11 for my first payment I am so upset and confused as I thought reading about the change over that it would be straight forward and I would be put in same kind of group I was in on uc without any kind of medical assessment my daughter has put notes into my journal on the payment part stating that was in the support group of esa and this should have put me to get the disability part of uc several times which have been totally ignored it’s making me ill and I do not know where to turn for help .. thank you for any advice

Hi Lacey

I'm sorry that this is happening to you. You are not alone in not receiving the money you expected. Your daughter has done the right thing and put a query in your journal. They are supposed to be responding within 48 hours, but as you have found, this is not happening. I have noticed that they don't seem to respond to messages about the same issue. Your daughter could try contacting the UC helpline and see if she can get any joy there - though I think she will probably be told to put a note in the journal. She could also tell them on the helpline that she wishes to put in a complaint about the length of time it is taking to get a response.
