Hello I am in the process of managed migration from income related ESA and HB and was in the support group. I had a letter today saying ‘dear x, contribution based ESA- your contribution based ESA will change to new style ESA on x.
I was not on contribution based ESA, I was on income related ESA, so is it their mistake, or is everyone being migrated onto new style ESA?
Then it goes on to say my work coach will make an appointment and ‘we will ask you to explain how your illness or disability affects your ability to work’. So basically an assessment.
Do I really have to go through that if I’m in the support group and the DWP has all the medical evidence they need?
Most people appear to be migrating to new style ESA.
My friend had a work coach appointment - and it was not an assessment - and took less than ten minutes - just confirming that she is a very vulnerable person who won't have to look for a job. (She too was in the support group).
