Work and UC was created by Alhan
Advice needed. My daughter and her partner are on UC and daughter on PIP (partner currently not working) She is in the LCW category, has severe EDS, and other associated conditions. She volunteers at McMillan once a week when her health allows. They have created a role for her (hours to comply with UC limits etc) My concern is will that prompt DWP to remove her from LCW category? She will need taking to work as she is in a wheelchair and cannot get the chair it herself out if the car unaided) the role is light admin and telephone. She may not even be able to cope with it, but really wants to try (they are supportive of her health needs) she has never been able to work prior to this offer. Would appreciate any info. Many thanks

Hi Alhan
Welcome to the forum.
You might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is; www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/faq/forum.
DWP cannot remove your daughter from LCW, your daughter would loose her LCW if she failed her WC assessment if you have a look at our guide it will explain what claimants need to pass the LCW/LCWRA
As your daughter was placed in the LCW group this means she passed the first test (needs 15 points or more) but failed the second test (need to fit in one of the descriptors)
As your daughter is in the LCW group they would be eligible to a work allowance. We would advise your daughter to seek advice from their local Welfare Rights Organisation: advicelocal.uk they will be able to take all their circumstances into consideration when giving advice.
