Pip descriptor managing toilet needs was created by Beverley
I recently requested a change of circumstances as my daily living needs have deteriorated. The form was received by DWP on 30 June (I sent it recorded delivery), and the decision was made on 08 July. It only took 8 days
I was previously awarded 8 points for daily living and 12 points for mobility.
I have now been awarded 11 points for daily living and kept the 12 points for mobility.
I believe I should have scored 4 points for managing toilet needs, but was only awarded 2 points.
I stated that I have a raised toilet seat and grab rails at home but would not be able to use an unadapted toilet without assistance from another person. I also stated that my partner has to help me to make sure my bottom and backs of my upper legs are clean and dry. I have previously needed hospital treatment due to sores on the bottom and back of upper legs so it is vital that these areas are kept clean and dry.
I am going to ask for a mandatory reconsideration and would welcome any advice.
Thank you.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Beverley
That was a very quick decision!
I think they are saying that you have an aid (the raised toilet) - which now solves the 'issue' rather than recognising that you need assistance to manage your toilet needs. All you can do is say that you think the assessor was 'mistaken' and supervision from another person is a necessity, not a choice, and there is a high risk of sores, abscesses and hospital treatment without it.
