ESA to UC Migration notice recieved was created by melrose
I received this today, I was relieved to get it tbh because I've been expecting it. I've recently tly (2 months ago) had to put in my ADP renewal form and am still awaiting the decision. In March this year I was diagnosed with severe LVSD on top of my existing disabling conditions. I have been told I have maybe 2 or less years to live. Avoid stress! They've obviously never dealt with the DWP!!! I obviously hope to live longer but I am a realist. My question is regarding the 12 months life expectancy. I know I could 'cash out at any time but 'officially Ive been told up to 2 years, unofficially Ive been told less than a year. To be dealing with all this at this time is a complete waste of what little time I have left but I was wondering if I am able to go the 12 months route? Thanks for your help.

Hi melrose

Thank you for your question which has made me think and ponder, a few years ago there was a form called DS1500 which a Dr could sign without the claimant knowing, giving a life expectancy of 6 months or less. I came across a lady who been diagnosed 2 years earlier and had no idea what a DS1500 was. I never told her.

They now have a new form called a SR1 which is for claimants with less than a year, the only person to answer
your question would be either your Dr or consultant if you have one.

The SR1 form does not stop you from having to complete the UC process, what it does do is place you in the LCWRA group and enhanced daily living component of PIP.
