Questions asked on migration from IRESA to UC was created by Holysmoke
Good evening all,
I apologise in advance if I have missed the obvious but I am trying to get organised before completing the age mixed group migration form from ESA to UC.
I note others have used the citizens advice advisors for help.
I am in the group which I think is known as low capability for work group of ESA and am in receipt of PIP also. My husband receives his state pension and AA.
When we complete the migration form, will it ask all the questions re health and inability to do certain activities or because I was in the indefinite period group for EESA following an assessment, I am curious what will be expected of us to submit a claim.
Secondly, is it better to submit the claim nearer to the migration deadline?
Thank you for reading and for your patience if my questions appear unintelligent.

Hi Holysmoke
Your question was perfect but outside the remit of the forum.
I come across mixed aged couples quite frequently, we cannot give you a definitive answer as we do not have all the facts such as the age of your partner, mixed aged couples rules changed on the 15th May 2019.
I have assumed your partner reached State Pension age after 15/05/19 , I have also assume ESA is in your name, you are in the WRAG and you have received migration letter. When you apply for UC as your partner receives AA you should get the LCWRA element of UC, do you care for your partner, if you do then you should be eligible to claim carer element, you may also claim the Housing element if you pay rent and a couples element, UC will then deduct money coming into the household such as state pension and any occupational or private pension.
If your claim is complicated then I would not leave it near the deadline, you should be eligible for transitional protection.
