ESA to UC migration - verifying ID via face to face appointment.

I did post a message like this a bit earlier but its not showing up in My Topic section so may not have gone through.

I have been told I must go to a job centre and have a face to face appointment to prove my ID. I have requested - via my journal - that if a face to face is necessary then I request a home visit to do this and that it is a reasonable adjustment request under the Equality Act 2010. Was this the correct thing to say or have I just shot myself in the foot (as it were)?

Many thanks

Andrew

Hi adsellars

The only post showing from you was posted over 6 years ago which Gordon answered.

It's a hard question to answer as DWP can do home visits via a referral, most UC claimants have to have a face to face with their work coach to verify their identity and sign their claimant commitment, this starts their UC claim.

"I have been told I must go to a job centre and have a face to face appointment to prove my ID."

Same here, despite the fact I put in my passport and driving licence details, and it came up automatically saying my identity had been proved. Someone called me later and said it hadn't been accepted and I would have to come in with my ID and produce it at the job centre which I'm not looking forward to at all. I smell a rat though as it definitely said it had been accepted online.
