UC migration and NS ESA was created by Madison AF
I apologise if this has been posted twice but I cannot find it in the forum.
I have been helping a friend who is undergoing managed migration from Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (support group), which he has been on for many years, to Universal Credit. We attended a Job Centre interview yesterday to confirm his identity. Despite his anxiety at having to attend in person, the DWP officer was very patient and friendly, all seemed to go well and he was told that his first UC payment would be made on 7 August (amount to be notified on 4 August). So far so good. However, this afternoon, he received the following notification through his UC online To-do list:
'Your phone appointment to "Agree a New Style Employment and Support Allowance commitment" for Wednesday 5 August. Extra Information "During your interview, we will look at your Universal Credit commitments to see if anything needs changing. This is because of your claim to New Style Employment and Support Allowance (NS ESA)." '
He has not made a claim for NS ESA, though, and is now very distressed because he doesn't understand what this means? I am at a loss, too, so any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, in advance, Maddie
