Pip call was created by Maria
I am away with the kids and out of the blue got a call from PIP, I sent my sons form in back in May, he was previously on DLA. I was literally walking down the street and said to the woman it wasnt a good time, she said it would only take 5 mins and I was flustered. She asked me if my son could go on a walk with me and I said well yes he can. Then could he read. I said yes but he cant always understand what he reads, she also asked if he could tell me he was hungry. I said yes, he can tell me but this is dependant on his anxiety he will often not eat when stressed.
At the end of the 12 minute call she said she had enough info to make a decision. I asked if I could have a copy of her report, she said why, I said to know what points he was given and to keep for any further PIP assessments. She then said well I am going to recommend a 5 year award but thats all I can tell you. I am now going over the conversation which I wasn't prepared for and she was very pushy about me answering the questions there and then. Who do I call to get a copy of the report is it DWP? I feel I should have stood my ground re taking the call but guess its done now, a 5 year award would be amazing but I just hope my garbled responses haven’t messed things up in respect of what he should get.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Maria
If that's the only conversation you had, then the assessor is doing a paper-based assessment, and I'm afraid it has become common practice that they no longer write a report. They are also not supposed to disclose any information over the phone.
If you don't like the decision when you get it, you can still put in for a Mandatory Reconsideration. Hopefully you will be happy with the result.
