Migration to UC and ID checks. was created by Jane
Hi my son is migrating from esa, and the only problem is ID. He has no passport or driving licence and no credit agreements, his phone is monthly contract online with no contract letter. This is very difficult as I'm his carer and appointee. We are waiting for the phone call next few days. Does anyone else have this ID problem

Hi Jane
I moved this post - sorry I couldn't move both of them together. If you have a question please start a new post rather than putting them on the end of someone else's even if the question appears to be the same, as it becomes very confusing if we are trying to respond to multiple people within one thread.
As I said in your other post, I have a family member without a photo ID, and their identification was confirmed with a home visit. They have an appointee and are bed-bound and fell asleep as the person from the DWP arrived. The appointee showed them three documents from the list, and they quickly left.
Try not to worry about it. Even if someone has an appointee they still have to confirm the claimants id for this process.

I am in the same situation with no photo ID.
I attended the local job centre and it was very straightforward. She only needed to see the bank card connected with my account and a council tax bill. I had gone armed with heaps of other information but that was all she needed. She told me that if it had been a home visit they would only have needed to see the same things. I understand your situation is different, but hopefully when you receive the phone call they can tell you what they can accept.
I was very worried about having no photo ID but in the end it was no problem at all. It is a very worrying time, but I hope you manage to get this sorted.
