Diary for PIP evidence was created by KatieE
My pip tribunal claim has finally moved from awaiting further directions to ready for listing (14 months on) and I've been recently keeping a diary of my symptoms using the template on this website.

How long would you suggest is best to keep the diary? Should I submit it as evidence or take it with me when I finally do get a hearing date?

It feels like things are finally moving, but also not moving at all. My disabilities are really getting the better of me right now and I honestly just want to see then end of this whole thing.

Hi KatieE

I think it's great that you're keeping a diary, but even if you try to submit it as evidence, the panel are likely to ignore it. Their job is to judge whether the DWP made a fair and lawful decision at the time of the assessment. I'm sorry that you're struggling even more with your health, but although the panel might acknowledge it, they can't take it into account when reaching their decision, in your case.

Ah ok, just wasting my already limited spoons on keeping the diary in the first place then 🤣

Thank you.

Hi KatieE

When you are at a Tribunal the first thing the chair will say is they are looking at your condition when you had the assessment, not as you are now, they will ask if your condition has deteriorated since you had the assessment.
Quite often claimants will say their condition has got worse thinking it will go in their favour but it does not, quite the opposite. The chair will say that if your condition has got worse then you may want to make a new application but the hearing today is about how you were when you were assessed.
