no migration letter yet, should i be concerned ? was created by reds123
hi mods, i have been on esa for many years mental health problems i transferred from incapacity benefit many years ago, i think i am on mixed i/r and c/b esa but not had a migration letter yet , i thought the time table was everyone would have migration letter by september so the transitions will all be completed by end of 2025, so allowing for the 3 months to complete transition i expected to hear from them by end august at latest, should i wait till end of august or is they a delay in the system due to numbers being migrated. do you know if the numbers they expected to migrate by now been achieved or are they running behind , and are mixed esa migrations being done last. sorry for all the questions but its far easier to ask you as i wont phone dwp due to my illness. many thanks.

Hi reds123
Try not to worry, migration letters are being sent out, the last of the letters should go out by September, I did read that the DWP are on target to get all the letters out by end September. I believe DWP are hoping to get everything completed by the end of the financial year.
Keep an eye out for B&W Newsletter it will give you all the up dates.

I have yet to receive a Migration notice too, I am applying for my state pension at the start of September, 4 months before reaching 66 .
It would be totally pointless to expect me to migrate to UC when so close to becoming a pensioner but I am still thinking the migration notice will arrive as its the DWP after all.

Hi Gaddy
As you reach state pension age in September, you will not see a migration letter.
You should have had a letter from the pension service by now inviting you to apply for your state pension, if you have not had a letter contact them, depending on your circumstances you may also be eligible to apply for Pension Credits.

I actually reach state pension age on 1st January 2026, I am aware you can apply for your pension up to 4 months prior to reaching pension age.
So thats what I intend to do but as I said, still thinking the migration notice will arrive.

Hi Gaddy
I miss read your question, I thought it said you get your state pension on the 4th Sept.
I know if it's 4 months before you retire, you will not receive a migration letter but 6 months, I would assume that you have to apply for UC which will stop one day before your state pension, you will then also have to apply for HB if you receive help with your housing costs.
