Housing Benefit/Pension Credit merger was created by lesley
I did ask about this some time ago. It was delayed until 2028, but now it has been brought forward to 2026.
Am a bit scared that my housing benefit may be reduced or the whole process of merging the two cause some confusion.
Am still hobbling around on two crutches since and ankle fusion operation in 2023. Would go to C.A.B. or Age UK to find out but I am unable to use any form of public transport and do not have a car.
I do know that I am not the only one who is worried and lots of us are in the same or similar situation.

Hi Lesley
I'm sorry this is causing you distress, but housing benefit issues are outside the remit of this forum, and we are unable to offer you any advice on this. I did a quick google search and the only thing I could find was a parliamentary answer from Sir Stephen Timms saying that this was going to apply to new claimants and it is currently being worked on

Thank you. Yes I saw this myself.
So who would I ask about pension credit?
Thanks

Morning Lesley.
Does your council have a Welfare Rights service? If so, I would email them and ask for clarification. The changes are not due to happen yet, so you have breathing space.
If you are a social housing tenant, your Housing Association will be able to help you.
Age Concern and Shelter both have good information pages and helplines.

I appreciate it’s stressful.
Just breathe and take your time.
