Permitted work after ESA migration to UC

Hi. I have just been migrated across to UC. I will get a payment from NewStyle ESA and UC.
I have done patient and public involvement for the past few years under the permitted work rules.
Yesterday I was told by UC that I would no longer be able to do this without them deducting money from my UC. I asked about the work allowance and was told I don’t get one. 1 because I was not looking for work and 2 because I don’t have any children???
Is this correct? I would be gutted to have to stop. Thanks in advance.

Hi Louisa

The work allowance depends on a number of factors such as do you have any children, are you placed in the LCW/LCWRA group? You also have to take into account the Earnings Taper.

You need to seek specialist advice from your local Welfare Rights Organisation: advicelocal.uk where they can take all your circumstances into consideration when giving you advice.
