Our 19 year old tax credits eliment has stopped, they are still in education as they have very complex needs and it helps teach them very basic communication and life skills.

They have PIP at the high level on both, but the loss of tax credits overnight takes away a lot thier needed assistance, we got a message saying they can claim UC, they can't do it themselves but as we are appointees I assume we can?

But how much is this worth? Will it be deduced from out uc as an income? And will they be required to seek work?

Thank you

Hi Gary

Your child will need to submit a Fitnote to UC and then take part in what the DWP call the Health Journey.

No, PIP is not deducted from UC.

The DWP will only communicate with the Appointee.

For payments try using a Benefits calculator such as Entitledto.co.uk

Hope this helps
