How to cancel NSESA after migrating to UC in Support group was created by teresasue
Hi I would like to stop and cancel a new claim got NS ESA which looks like is being set up after migrating to UC after being in ESA support group.
I want to just do it all on UC
Expecting a call for new commitments on 15th September AND A PAYMENT for £281.10 starts on same day.
How can I stop this happening please don't know who to phone and stop it and stop payment to stop the claim starting?
Will UC realise want to do all the claim hopefully LCWRA with them please

Noooooo... You do not understand.... Ok, you were previously in the support group. You THOUGHT, you got "income related" ESA.
This is because the DWP are numpties and do not have a clue... In actual fact, you have paid NI contributions, and you were ACTUALLY getting "contribution based" ESA with an "income related" top up.
What will happen now, is that, this "migration" nonsense, it ONLY affects "income related" benefits.
So, what will happen, it that from now on, you will STILL GET your ESA exactly as you did before, BUT, the "premiums" have been taken off [abolished] which is why you now get the £281, instead of what you did before.
You will now get UC AS WELL as the ESA, but every bean you get from your ESA, will be taken OFF, your UC.
You will get "transitional protection" to compensate you for what has been taken off your ESA..
This is quite normal.. The government said that UC was to make things simpler, they must be joking..
So, to sum up, you are still in the support group, you will still get your ESA as usual, you will get UC as well, but with the ESA taken off, you will get transitional protection added to your UC and presumably you get PIP too, and this will continue as normal..
If you rang up and stopped your ESA you would stop your entire claim...
