Ongoing Award - AR1 or AR2 for review? was created by Regina
My wife got an ongoing award (on appeal) 10 years ago. She's now received her review paperwork and they're asking us to fill in the AR1 questionnaire. T
he guide that Benefits and Works have written states that ongoing awards should get the light touch review (AR2). Her condition is lifelong and will only get worse.
Is there any point in contacting the DWP and querying this or do we just do AR1?
We've only just realised and are in full flow filling in AR1.
Thanks

Hi Regina
There are two types of ongoing awards - 1) ongoing - with an end date of ten years. 2) ongoing with no fixed end date.
For 1) - fixed date - AR1 form For 2) no end date - AR2 form
If your wife has a date, then the AR1 form is correct. If she didn't have a date - then you can ring the DWP and query it. Even if you don't have a date, I suspect that because the award was the result of a Tribunal, they will insist on the AR1 (which, unfortunately, is their right to do).

There was no end date. I'll give them a ring but, as you say, they have every right to make us do AR1.
Irritating as we're spending a lot of time on it as per the guidance from this site. C'est la vie.
