ESA-UC Transitional Protection For Disabled Couple was created by Yorry
Myself & my wife are in the process of a Mandatory Migration from ESA to UC.
We are both disabled and receive the disability premium on ESA
We have been told that only one of us can have the disability premium on UC
because a couple can't have it. Also we have been told that my wife doesn't have
to provide a FIT Note but I do. As we have Transitional Protection will the UC be made
up to match the ESA we received with both disability premiums included.

Hi Yorry
Yes, TP means that you should initially be no worse off than you were before you applied for UC.
There can only be one LCWRA element when a disabled couple applies for UC, if the partner who is not awarded the LCWRA element, cares for their partner then they can claim the Carer element of UC.
We would advise you to seek specialist advice from your local Welfare Rights Organisation: advicelocal.uk where they can take all your circumstances into consideration when giving you advice.
