Contributory ESA was created by SueB
I had my work capability assessment on 7th October and it lasted 2hours 16 minutes. The DWP had received the 113 from my GP on 17th September. I just wanted to know was a 2 hour plus assessment really necessary? I have worked since I was 16 and had to stop this March due to chronic health conditions, I’m in my 50,s. If I don’t get in the support group can I appeal? Ps I was totally exhausted and went to bed after the assessment finished.

Hi SueB
Yes you can Appeal but you may have to ask the DWP for a Mandatory Reconsideration first. You can find out how to do this in the Guides section of BenefitsandWork:-
Employment and Support
Allowance
and Universal Credit
Mandatory Reconsiderations
and Appeals
