hi mods, i am almost ready to migrate from income related esa support group to universal credit. i have a joint claim with my wife for esa, as i understand i will go to lcwra and not be required to do any work related activities but will my wife also migrate to lcwra with me or will she be put in a different group where she needs to do work activities or look for work. she is my appointee and deals with the dwp for me. would adding the carers element to my claim remove the chances of her being required to attend job centre for a medical etc, she has her own mobility problems and i will add them to the migration form, also will either of us be forced to accept the claimers commitment, sorry for all the questions we just want to be %100 sure when we migrate, our payday is on a friday so we are thinking of migrating on the monday after is this sensible? many thanks reds 123

Hi reds123

As your wife is your Appointee the DWP will refuse to correspond or talk to you. However you can use the Citizens Advice Help to Claim service to advise you on your Managed Migration. Their phone number is on page 2 of your Migration letter. Here is a recommendation from a Forum member:-
