Claiming UC, being accepted butn nopayment was created by Carole
Let me tell you about a friend of mine. He had Covid, several times, it’s enervated existing health problems. He been hospitalised several times, most recently this last week, but only overnight. His ongoing claim for Universal credit had been accepted back in May. They promised payment June, which left him struggling to pay his bills for 6 weeks. June came and went, I to July, his councillor advised court filing. He won, again payment ordered by judge within a month - August, September (court again ordered payment), October, middle of November, he’s still awaiting payment. He’s had to beg and borrow from family and friends to keep going. He’s tried ‘drastic’ events (if you get my drift), it’s pushing to the brink yet again. This week the Judge has again ordered payment or BAILIFFS at the door of the DWP offices! Yet again, they’ve been given a month to pay, which will take him to Christmas. How is someone supposed to live with circumstances like this. He’s also submitted his paperwork 3-4 times that I know of because they keep “losing” his paperwork! I’m not sure how much more this poor man can take. He’s being driven to despair by this government!! 🤬

Hi Carole
I'm so sorry for your friend - that sounds simply dreadful. The only suggestion I have is that he or someone on his behalf get in touch with his MP and highlight his story and ask for help. Some MPs are not very helpful, but some do crack the whip at the DWP and they act very quickly. It's ridiculous when he has won in court each time.
