Hi
I have been on income based ESA for a few months due to losing my job due to ill health (cancer and treatment left me with several issues). I applied for ill health pension and have been waiting months. Also waiting since August to have a work capability assessment and moved to different esa. I have the assessment tomorrow and 3 days ago I got a lump sum of just over 20k , and will get approx £70 a week pension. I have been using loans and credit card to get by since losing my job so owe 25k in total. Will I now not be able to change to the support group esa as I will no longer be eligible for esa ? It's the first time I've been on benefits and have found it all very stressful. Any advice really appreciated

Hi Talula77

You say you previously had a job so you may be getting Contributions Based ESA with an Income Based ESA top up. The Conts Based ESA will carry on regardless of your pension lump sum. So I would attend your WCA and then make further enquiries about the ESA.
