Hi Gemma

It shouldn't, but it could depend on what you have been awarded PIP for.

Take, for instance, if a person had previously been awarded PIP for severe depression, and then they have a baby. The assessor is likely to ask who looks after the baby. If a claimant says they do - I can see some assessors thinking - if they can look after a baby they can cook meals, wash themselves, mix with people etc. I'm not saying this is right - I am just saying that it is a possibility. We have had members here who feel they have been penalised when claiming PIP because they look after their children.
