PIP Form, Question 11, "Mixing with Other People" was created by WD
Hi,
Most of the questions on the PIP form simply ask you, "What help do you need?"
But Question 11 , "Mixing with other People" is worded (differently to all the other questions) to ask, "Who helps you?, "What do they do?"
So.. how do people who need help that they don't get answer that!?!?
I find that being off work and getting money is help!
E.g. I can manage much better getting through a day without working and with more money ...but I don't have a carer caring for me.
Please, I would be grateful if anyone could help me understand how do I go about answering this (in my opinion strangely skewed) question.
Thanks,
WD

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi WD
This activity considers your ability to engage socially, which means to interact with others in a contextually and socially appropriate manner, understand body language and establish relationships; all these matters must be considered.
The activity should consider your ability to engage with people generally, not just with people you know well or with your own age group or gender. It should consider your ability to engage one to one or with a small group, rather than with a crowd
One descriptor deals with whether or not you need social support to be able to engage with other people.
Another descriptor refers to an inability to engage with other people due to such engagement causing ‘overwhelming psychological distress’. This is defined as distress related to an enduring mental health condition or an intellectual or cognitive impairment.
