extended deadline vs. final was created by Invisible
Hello, I have received the below message from UC:

''Universal Credit Migration Notice extension
We have extended your deadline to claim Universal Credit. You now
need to claim by 19 December 2025.''.

I did not ask for this extension although I obviously welcome it. I think it is because it sent the migration notices with considerable delay, which it did.

Just to make sure I understand correctly: the above deadline would be 'the deadline' but I would have also a final deadline a month from the above mentioned one. So I must claim UC by at least the FINAL deadline or I will lose transitional protection, am I correct? Thanks.

Hi invisible

Your final deadline day would be 18 January 2026. So you must claim UC by then to preserve your Transitional Protection.

Let me know how you get on.
