If you were re-awarded PIP with an ongoing award / Light Touch review, shortly before you retire, what happens at the next your review approx. 9-10 years later. Would one have to apply for AA? I did search but found nothing, Has situation happened as PIP came out 2013 ish.
When you retire, if you are in receipt of PIP, you stay on PIP. What does change when you retire is the mobility component, once you reach state pension age you cannot change the mobility component of PIP, if you are on standard you cannot claim for the enhanced component or if you had a nil mobility award you cannot claim standard or enhanced.
Attendance Allowance is for claimants who had not applied for PIP prior to reaching state pension, it consists of the care component only, there is no mobility component with Attendance Allowance.
