Report your neighbour for fraud...... was created by Arthritic Annie
Hi All,

My anxiety is through the roof, the NI version of DWP has just launched a new campaign for neighbours to report each other for suspected fraud.

I have nothing to hid but my anxiety is through the roof everytime I hear the advert on the radio or on the tv. Its hard enough to be taken seriously as a 'relatively' young person with a chronic debilitating condition without the worry of being forced to go through additional checks or whatever being investigated might actually look like. Just curious does anyone know if someone is reported at what stage do you be notified?

The minister was on the tv the other night sneering about the amount of mobility cars in NI and saying people reporting each other is up from 6000 last year to over 9000 this year. How naming and shaming is working as they are now back publishing names.

No word of how all this makes people worry and has a further negative impact on their health.

Sorry, I think im just ranting again. I think I just come here when I need reassurance as I know everyone here feels the same and are just fed up of being constantly kicked when down.

Thank you

Hi Arthritic Annie

Here is a link to the Minister's statement regarding Welfare Fraud:-

As for your question regarding when you will know. You probably may never know as UC claimants these days are subjected to various reviews including the annual Automated Claim review and the Targeted Case review. So you won't know if your review is prompted by a Compliance referral or is routine.
