You don't have to try to explain everything. They will send you out an application and someone will come and interview you. They will want to check that he agrees. You ask him to do that, and then make sure he leaves the room, and the rest of the questions are posed to you. My interview to become an appointee took less than 15 minutes. My family member was snoring over the other side of the room and didn't take part in any of it except to confirm his name before he fell asleep.
