DWP requesting birth certificate for ESA was created by spitfire77
I’ve just received a letter from the DWP requesting I send them my birth certificate which unfortunately I can’t locate. They have asked that I tell them information regarding my date of birth. I have been receiving ESA since approximately 2012 and unsure why they are requesting this kind of information

I would ring them on 0800 169 0310 and ask them why they need it and explain you can't locate it and see what the response is.
