My son has high functioning autism and also Fluoroquinolone Associated Disability. FQAD is a long lasting and possibly permanent physical and psychological disability caused by FQ antibiotics. There are now prescribing restrictions on these awful drugs. He has just had his PIP reviewed and has been awarded the enhanced rates for daily living and mobility for an 'ongoing period'. Does anyone know what this may mean, possibly no further review in the future? I thought no awards were given for more than ten years? Could this be due to the awaited outcome of the Timms review?

So glad to hear that your son has been given an ongoing award. If there is no date for a review on the decision letter, the award will last for ten years, and he should be sent a Light Touch Review form sometime after that. The review is most likely to be a paper-based review (though it's not an absolute certainty). So there still aren't awards longer than ten years - it's just a slightly different process from those that have been given a review date and there is an expectation that his needs will continue.
