Anyone else had an unplanned second review? was created by miss ladysmith
Hi there I’m just wondering whether anyone else has experienced this? I’ve been on enhanced for both activities for the last 15 years - although with every review I’ve had to go to appeal to go back to enhanced for living - which I’ve always won. However this time things are very different. My review forms were sent back in January 2025 - my over the phone review took place on December 5th 2025 - it went on for almost 2 hours. Then on February 19th 2026 I had a phone call out of the blue from the same HP saying that DWP had requested more specific information - it was about 5.30pm - I was very tired and not expecting this call. She then went on to ask me the same questions again, this call went on for 45 minutes. So last week I received my review - as usual reduced back down to 11 points for daily living. I’ve just received the HP assessment - what is really interesting is that it contains her initial review and the suggested points - then underneath a new entry after the second review - stating to ignore initial recommendations due to new evidence. There was no new evidence. It was her asking me the same questions over and over during an unplanned call. She had initially awarded me 20 points for the daily living component. I can only assume she was told to review her review and to find ways of reducing my award. Ironically despite referring to my upper limb injuries, they have used my use of a rollator to assume I have adequate grip - even though I did tell her that I have to lean on the handles with my arms half of the time because its too painful to hold onto the handlebars and brakes. The level of contradiction in the report is astounding due to it containing both reviews. This feels like a sneaky new tactic to call you out of the blue - is that even allowed to conduct a second review without prior warning? Just thought I’d share this. I’m not sure if this makes my MR easier? Normally the HP blatantly lies on the initial review - now I have a review where you can literally see them contort their findings to presumably get me under the enhanced threshold yet again.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi miss ladysmith
I"m sorry this has happened to you. I'm afraid they can contact you about anything they need to 'clarify'. It certainly sounds as if pressure was put upon the assessor. Although I've known people be contacted after their reviews, I've never seen a report where both conversations appear as yours does. I'm sorry that you have a fight on your hands again.
