Benefits and work was created by Sally
Hi
Not quite sure where to post this , but here goes .
I work 3 days a week, husband has Parkinson’s and is retired . I’ve been on long term sick since end of February. My full pay is running out and I will then be on half pay from work . Will my universal credit automatically adjust when this hits or do I have to tell them ?
If I had to stop work due to poor health how would that affect my benefits? I’ve tried turn 2 us but I’m 61 and don’t really understand benefits at all . I’m worried I won’t be able to cover my bills as I’m only just covering them now on a three day week

Hi Sally

Employers automatically send PAYE information to the DWP through the RTI payroll system. So there is no need to tell UC about your pay being reduced.
Likewise if you are no longer employed and not receiving a wage then UC would be aware of that unless you are self employed.
Have you tried using a Benefits calculator such as Entitledto.co.uk ?
