UC - DWP not awarding payment increases? was created by SuperSuze
Hello,
Hoping you guys can help solve a UC mystery! The DWP don't seem to be increasing payments, which supposedly came into effect in April 2026. I would strongly urge people to scrutinise closely.
I've been in receipt of UC for a year now (🎈 🎂) and receive LCWRA, Standard Allowance, Housing Costs and Transitional Protection. My latest UC statement for May 2026 doesn't show any rise to the Standard Allowance, as reported in the news. I am still getting £400.14, not the reported rate.
I also believe that being in receipt of LCWRA for a year (for health conditions) puts me in the higher rate category (I don't have to do work-related activity) which should also increase my LCWRA? This also appears to be completely incorrect.
I was paid on 1st May 2026, due to bank holiday, and have sent the DWP a message for clarity.
Does anyone know a really credible website, where they state the correct April 2026 increases for both LCWRA (new higher rate) and Standard Allowance. I want to quote this website directly to the DWP, if I need to challenge this any further.
Thanks guys 🙏
SuperSuze
P.s. My transition protection rate has also been reduced to £7.00, due to a reported change in housing costs. This also appears to be incorrect. If my calculations are correct, I should be getting no transitional protection, but £23.00 more pcm.

Hi SuperSuze
Your Transitional Element should be reduced by the increase in your rent and the annual uprating of UC.
So what increase in UC were you expecting?
