Transitional protection..

Hi All,

How does this work??

Say a person gets total benefits of £90 a week, PLUS housing benefit of £10 a week, to give a grand total of £100 a week

On the 1st of April, their rent GOES UP by £10 a week, payable in arrears every 4 weeks.

On the 10th of April, they submit their managed migration claim and are entltled to TP.

HOWEVER, they only receive the original £100 a week, and the rent increase 9 days before their claim is/was ignored leaving them £10 a week worse off.

Who is right, the DWP who will not have it they are wrong, or the claimant..??
