PIP review form with citizens advice was created by Jensy
Hi there,
Just looking for some advice please.
I saw citizens advice this morning for help filling my pip review form out and I’m just a bit worried as reading through when I got home there didn’t seem to be a lot of detail filled out at all.
Is this normal for a review form?
Just worried as I’m still waiting for my appeal/tribunal hearing next month for my original claim and don’t think I could bear to appeal again if my award is refused due to not enough information.
Thanks for any advice
J

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Jensy
The CAB never do write a lot on the forms. They are under a lot of pressure to support as many people as possible, and unfortunately, they don't have time to learn much about you; hence, there is so little detail. If you are worried that there are things missing that you think should be on the form, then you should add them, even if you do it on separate pages and include them as an attachment with your name and national insurance number on. If you don't feel able to or you don't want to do that, then you just have to trust what they have done. Some people write reams for their forms and some people write very little. It's not the amount of pages that gets you the award - it's the relevance to show how you meet the PIP criteria.

Thank you for this, I appreciate that citizens advice support a lot of people and I’m very grateful for their help as I can no longer focus well enough to complete the forms myself, I’m just a worrier.
Will they read the review along with my original paperwork as a lot of the answers are ‘I still struggle with this’ but without examples and details which I guess would be asked for during interview maybe, just worried about the vagueness and wouldn’t want to be dismissed without even having an interview?
Sorry to keep asking questions but I’m just finding it very stressful doing the review and trying to deal with my appeal hearing for my current award in a couple of weeks at the same time.
Thanks again for taking the time to answer. 😊

Hi Jensy
There's no need to apologise for asking questions - that's what we're here for. If we don't know or can't answer, we will say so, but never be afraid to ask.
I'm afraid it's hit-and-miss how far back an assessor will look. Generally, they focus on the most recent form. They may look further back if they think some information is missing, but unfortunately it's not a given. Assessors are under time constraints as much as the great people at CAB who help. It's an imperfect system. I understand why you're worried, but at this stage there is nothing more you can do. Honestly, some of it just comes down to luck, and that's outside your control.
