I am sorry this has happened. I mean - how could they get that wrong? I can see why you would want to challenge this. They couldn't possibly make a fair judgement .
You might also want to consider submitting a formal complaint. That is a 'mistake' that shouldn't have happened (and believe me, I'm trying to be polite when I use the word mistake!).
