UC and Savings was created by Brian1888

I have savings between £6000 and £16,000. I receive UC and NS ESA. During each assessment period I inform UC via journal what my savings are. The amount includes benefit payments.
UC then let me know the amount of UC I receive.

Should UC include benefit payments as part of my savings amount as I use these payments for daily living expenses etc ?

Hi Brian1888

Your Benefits payments only become savings after the period that they cover has expired. So any money left over from your monthly UC will be added to your savings once the Assessment Period has expired.
