Hi my daughter receives child DLA and was sent form to move to pip when she turned 16 earlier this year.
My daughter has several conditions - I asked on the claim form for a paper based assessment and to use information from DLA form as additional evidence when making a decision
I explained that my daughter anxiety and autism would prevent her from being able to attend a f2f or telephone assessment, she experiences situational mutism and I explained that the process would be too much for her to cope with and detrimental to her mental health etc
My daughter also has an undiagnosed neurological condition - she was prescribed a high dose of medication being used off label which also produces some unpleasant side effects, due to the length of time she has been on the medication the neurologist said she could only stay on them for a certain period of time, and she has had to have a slow tapered withdrawal from them to be able to start new medication so this also has been an issue.
I received a letter asking to conduct a telephone assessment in June, I wrote to dWP sand reiterated the request for a paper based assessment & reasons as to why. I did not hear back from them
I have received a letter today I think it’s a pip 6000, asking for reason as to why didn’t attend the assessment in June , if I have any evidence to send and saying if I don’t return info by 16/8 or the reason isn’t good enough they will disallow her claim.
Has anyone got any tips on how to respond to this please

I'm sorry that we were unable to answer your post before you had to put in a reply. From what you have said here, I am not sure whether you ever spoke to someone over the phone. It seems that either they did not receive your request for a change of assessment type or your letter has yet to be processed or your letter has been ignored. Now you are able to ask for a change of assessment twice, but they have to give a reason why they will not agree to it. The fact that they seem to think your daughter did not attend makes me wonder whether they never received your letter at all.
You only have a couple of days now and perhaps you have managed to sort this. If you haven't - ring them tomorrow Saturday aznd say that you are appealing the fact they will not change to a paper-based assessment and see what their answer is. Are you your daughter's appointee? If you are - then you should be insisting that you are the person who needs to conduct the assessment. If you are not - perhaps it is something that your daughter would want to consider. If you don't get any joy and they insist they are going to cancel the claim - tell them immediately you need to appeal this decision.
