PIP1 form - Healthcare Professional that supports you?

Hello everyone.

I have been putting off applying for PIP for the past 4 years because of the fear of the whole process but I have finally decided to do it.

I've looked at the PIP1 form and spotted my first hurdle.
Question 64 - The main healthcare professional that supports you.

I'm not supported by a healthcare professional. I have osteoarthritis and was told to just control the pain.
If I put my GP's details then when they contact him he can look at my health record and confirm the diagnosis but he doesn't know how it affects me day to day.

Is this likely to be a problem?

Hi mrsm68

It would be fine for your GP to be the main healthcare professional that supports you.
He can confirm your disability but as to how it affects you day to day it would be a good idea to keep a diary on how your disability affects your daily life.

Let us know how you get on.
