I’m trying to find out if a lodger will make changes to my UC. I am in the equivalent of the support group and a long term friend needs a room.

I did a post yesterday and can’t find it. Any help appreciated

Hi Nienna

The income that the lodger pays you in rent is disregarded for Universal Credit purposes.
But it may well have an effect on your Council Tax. You can do a simulation using a Benefits calculator such as Entitledto.co.uk
