TOPIC: Next IB Medical

Next IB Medical 9 years 4 months ago #23624

Hi I was sent IB50 in August 2009 - this led to medical in March 2010 - at the medical it has been decided review March 2011.

I'm confused does this mean I will be sent another IB50 around Aungust 2010 with another medical March 2011 or will it be IB50 in March and the process starts from there.

Or are they under so much pressure who knows when they will review ???

Any ideas people ???

The review will commence in March 2011, at which time you will be sent an ESA50 as opposed to an IB50.

The reason for the change is that starting in February 2011, all existing IB claimants will be migrated to ESA at their review date and will have to undergo a work capability assessment. There will at this stage, be very few exemptions from the WCA.

What will happen at the commencement of the migration process is anybody's guess, but the way things are going at the present time the DWP, and hence the Tribunals Service, are likely to be snowed under with appeals as claimants appeal decisions which find them fit for work, not because their conditions have improved, but because they are being subjected to a harsher medical assessment designed purely to save money, by transferring as many claimants as possible to the less financially generous JSA and all that it entails.
