Hi there
Good on ya for being persistant push it all the way!!! I feel they rely too much on people giving up in claiming what you should be getting!!! I tell you what i would swap my lifestyle with anyone who is healthy and that includes my SDP, no one chooses to be disabled. Mmmmmmmm i wonder what other benefits we should be getting but are told we are not entitled to!!!! The extra SDP is worth approx £50 a week to you so they will have to backpay you, i am sure this will help you a lot!! Just out of curiosity were you on at least DLA MRC from 2008? If you were they will have to backpay you from then!!! Good luck and please let us know how it goes!!!
Best wishes
Julie
Hi Julie - you are so right. I almost gave up but something told me to double check. my DLA got increased to middle rate care from March this year. I called dwp again and they are looking into the SDP so will let you know the outcome.

I'm exactly in the same situation as yours and my disability premium is stopping as my daughter is turning 19 in September even though she's still in full time education and I get child benefit and child tax credit for her.
I read on the turn2us information on the topic of disability premium that having a child over 18 years old is classed as having a non dependent living with you so you are not eligible to get/ continue receiving the dp once the child turn 19.
I'm not sure if I can challenge this with jobcentre and I would really like to know if you had any luck in succeeding with yours.

You've replied to a post from over nine years ago so you are not going to get a reply from Martin, what benefit are you receiving the SDP with?
