TOPIC: medical records

medical records 8 years 10 months ago #28309

I would like to ask if a copy of my medical records would be acceptable as evidence when sent with ESA50.My GP is reluctant to write supportive letters so I was wondering if I got an update of my records from the surgery that this would help.
Thanks
Kenny

why would your GP be reluctant to give you a report? is there not another GP in your practice you could ask?

Hi Kenny, It can cost upto £50.00 for a copy of your records, and take upto 40 working days to get them. I would see the practice manager at your surgery and explain to them what it is you need. You are best sending as much supporting medical evidence as possible. Have you any hospital consultants? They usually supply reports. Best Wishes

Most GP practices charge for a medical report. My GP report cost £20 and was full of factual errors. However, the GP practice would have charged me £50 for a copy of my own medical records!!

Thanks for your quick replies.
The last time I got a letter from my GP he wrote about 4 lines and charged me £10.It was hardly worth me sending it.That is why I was looking at the possibliity of sending my medical records. His wife, who is his partner in the practice,is even worse. She thinks that "everyone is capable of doing something"
