Hi Annie.
First of all contact your local Mind to see if they can help with your appeal against the grant decision.
Dont be put off appealing as most appeals win. Iv been told that a certain amount of money is always put aside for exceptional cases.
There is a book out every year by Judy Stengar a welfare rights worker. Id advise anyone with a disability to buy one ,or ask the local library to get one.
The mind website has the details you need to obtain one.
If the appeal is turned down again you can ask for a social fund inspector to look at your claim.

Here are details of the book ;.

Hi Annie

When i moved 5 years ago I was turned down for a grant and only given one when my CPN contacted them, which helped pay for the removal costs if you have CPN or social worker would you be able to ask them to contact the DSS for you, it may help.
Lots of luck

Carole :)
