Hi

Okay, thanks once again Derek. I'm sending my letter, plus a letter from my doc and all supporting evidence by registered post tomorrow.

I'll then look at getting a rep, contacting them by email in the first instance to see what happens.

Thanks

Hi all

Just thought I'd drop a note to say that I posted my appeal documents on Saturday by special delivery. I've also sent an email to the Portsmouth Community Legal Advice centre to see about getting representation. Have not heard anything yet so I'm giving it to Wednesday then I shall call them.

I shall keep you up-to-date on any developments.

Pusscat :)

Hello Peeps!

I'm hoping there's somebody around to answer this.

I have received a letter from DWP today informing me that they will look at my appeal again and if appropriate they will revise the decision in my favour, and it may not need to go to a tribunal.

I'm just trying to find out if this is normal practice or not?

Any help very much appreciated.

Cheers all :)

Hi Pusscat

Yes, it is normal practice for the DWP to look at the decision again, although I didn't know that they use the optimistic wording, that it may not need to go to a tribunal.

I think you should still seek a representative in case, but I hope for yours and everyone else's sake that they will change their decision, and not add another appeal to the 29,700 already in the queue.

Best of luck

Derek

Hello Derek

Thanks for your always helpful reply. That is the exact wording in the letter:-

"We will look at the decision again that you have appealed against, and if appropriate, we will revise the decision in your favour"

So I'll just have to wait and see.

I have arranged representation, who will come and see me at home due to my sight problems.

I'll keep you updated on how it's all going.

Cross your fingers for me, won't you? :)

Thanks

Karen

Hi,

I find the sentence;

"We will look at the decision again that you have appealed against, and if appropriate, we will revise the decision in your favour"

somewhat ambiguous, in that although the result can be changed 'in your favour' it could also be changed 'to your disadvantage' as well.

Pete
