benefits arrears & capital rules was created by psammead124
Hi,

I'm trying to find out whether ESA (Income Related) arrears will count towards my personal capital limit.

I think I remember reading that arrears were disregarded for 52 weeks, but I can't find any 'official' info to confirm this. If someone can point me in the right direction that would be great.

Cheers B)

Arrears of ESA are ignored for one year or until the end of the assessed income period if that is longer.

After that, there are specific circumstances in which it can be ignored.

Thanks, phew! Do I need to inform them that I've gone over the lower limit? The only reason is because of their arrears payment.
Cheers :)
