gp will not give report 9 years 7 months ago #46213

I got low rate care last year only because locum doctor wrote short report, I am still waiting for tribunal for mobility after 12months. Now my gp will not give me any statement of health. Is he obliged to? I have no other evidence and dont know what to do.xx

I Sammy

Tricky one, I'm sorry your GP is so unhelpful.

Is he/she refusing because they do not support your claim, or could they simply not be bothered, or did they give any other reason?

Sammy - leaving aside the GP report, is there anyone else that could provide evidence? Neighbours, work colleagues, friends, someone from your place of worship or club, anybody? If you need care, does someone care for you at the moment, and if so, can they provide a statement? Does anyone see you struggling to walk? Get imaginative. It might even be someone in your local shop who sees you struggling to get round.

Do you have any hospital letters? Does the GP have any that you could ask for copies of?

I leave it to you and Derek to see if there's anything you can do about the GP report.

He sounds like my GP. Oh he is sympathetic enough when I go in and Im in agony but do you think he will help with my DLA appeal??? Not on your nelly. It has become clear to me that he doesnt approve of people claining sickness or disability benefits, and I suppose being as unhelpful as he is allows him to act on his beliefs. Its despicable.

hi Survivor
sorry for delay. I have ME and fibromyalgia and other stuff so all consultants discharge me as there's nothing they can do even pain clinic put me on pain patches then its off you go and manage it. My GP is very good and understands but says it is NOT policy for gps to write reports for DWP unless they are asked specific questions then he will answer. DWP are not going to be bothered writing to him when they just want to get rid of me.
I have sent in letters from friends and family they have disregarded them.
Its all been based on an EMP visit last year where his report is pure fabrication. I wouldn't have beleived it if it hadn't happened to me. At my wit's end. ME and FM just dont fit the boxes. Its not WHEN I walk but AFTER I walk. Sammys

Hi Sammy, I would go and visit the practice manager at your Doctors and explain everything to him/her. Sometimes they can be very helpful and should be able to assisst you. Best Wishes
