ESA Medical Question(s) 9 years 5 months ago #46460

  • missyp
Hi, I am hoping that somebody might be able to help me. I am writing on behalf of my Mum who was denied ESA initially but had a successful tribunal hearing in September where she was placed in the WRAG. She received a Work Related Capability Assessment form at the beginning of January which we have completed and she has since had notification to attend another Medical in a couple of weeks time.
Is this the ESA procedure starting all over again? I vaguely remember somebody saying after here appeal hearing that she would need to attend work focus interviews but has had nothing like this since the Hearing. What happens after the medical, do the interviews take place then or is the dreaded saga starting all over again? I truly hope note as I'm not sure my Mum is strong enough to go through another tribunal.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

A Google search for "Limited capability for work questionnaire" returns no results so it sounds like your mother actually received another ESA50 form which is headed "Limited capability for work questionnaire". If this is the case, and the fact that a medical has been scheduled tends to confirm this, then as you suspected, this is a re-assessment of her claim.

The Work Focussed Interview that is part of the "getting you back to work" :)process that members of the WRAG have to undertake. It consists of six interviews, the first at your local JCP and the subsequent ones either at the JCP or often an external agency employed to manage this process.

Hope this helps
