Well here goes, have posted off sons DLA claim having photo copied evevrything and sent it recorded delivery, icnluded all medical, out of school provision IEP's evidence so fingers crossed. I am now about to start filling in mine (they are both due back on the same day)I have been told not to submit evidence already submitted which is fine as I have new evidence plus letter from OT and clinical nurse specialist describing the level of disability and the complexity of the situation caring for a dependant 16 year old with the same condition. I asked DWP for a copy of the report my G.P sent them but as yet nothing am keeping a record of all phone calls.I have a feeling that something went wrong in the system with my first claim, as you can see from the above posts something is a bit "fishy" phoned CAB and the lady I spoke to said "you sound very intelligent and knowledgeable about your medical condition so no point in coming in as I don't think we will be able to help you" so I shall attempt this solo with the support of the forum. I will keep u posted and let you know what happens in such a complex situation!! :cheer:

Hi hassled mum

I'm sorry the CAB have been so unhelpful. I understand they are overworked at the moment and can't help everyone but it would have been polite if they simply stated that.

I actually wish the CAB advisor that I saw two years ago told me to write my own appeal statement, as I would have made a better job of it.

Have just had 2 letters back from DWP regarding my sons dla claim, first one said they cannot give a decision yet because they have requested a report from the g.p,it was a DBD6, then 2 days later second letter saying if they did not have enough info they would write to the g.p,arrange a doctor to visit, write asking for more info or arrange for someone from the local social security office to come and visit.Although that letter arrived after the dbd6 on checking the dates it had seems that the dbd6 has the later date on it and DWP have chosen the g.p report route.I got to this point with my own claim after they initially turned me down and I asked for a review, however this is the first communication we have had so far for my sons claim so does it mean that possibly they are not dismissing it totaly out of hand? I did hot foot it down to the surgery and gave my g.p a complete photcopy of everything including the claim form that we had sent off for my sons claim so the g.p has all the info to hand along with the fact that a visit to the docs last week showed that he still had a heart arrythmia and very low blood pressure and was not maintaining weight he was also concerned that a specialist had still not been found and that he had not had an ecg or echo done.I told him I am trying to save some of my ESA to try and get a private consult!!
So the question is, is the dbd6 a positive move in the right direction?
No news on my new claim as yet. Have not had scan report back for lesion in lower back, knees have now gone along with right foot and pelvic joints dislocating my arrythmia is not being successfully controlled and heartrate hit a high of 159 on friday but I guess I still won't qualify!!!despite a lovely letter from clinical nurse specialist stating how disabling my condition is and what I am unable to do. oh well fingers crossed ;) ps. aslo gave g.p a photocopy of my form too should the dwp decide to write to him regarding my claim. Many thanks in advance for your input
