Going to a tribunal. was created by delphinium
I would like some advice, after having to reapply for DLA after having the higher rate of DLA both care and mobility for two years. His claim for mobility has been totally rejected and his care level reduced to the lowest level. We did appeal and they wrote back within 5 days saying they would not change their decision. We now need to go to a tribunal. I need to know what sort of person would represent my husband. We are waiting to receive a copy of GP's report though he says that he said things were unchanged. Peter can hardly walk, he uses a wheel chair when we go to a supermarket and has lots of other problems. He is no longer under the consultant who operated on his brain and spine, as they can do no more.
We are at a loss to know where to start.

The following site has a list of organisations you can contact.

www.direct.gov.uk/en/Dl1/Directories/Use...Contacts/DG_10026996

At the very least they should be able to help you prepare an appeal, however many of them are struggling to provide representation at a Tribunal.

Don't forget that you must lodge your intention to appeal on a GL24 within four weeks of the decision you have just received.

Just a quick help, we went to www.communitylegaladvice.org.uk/en/direc.../directorysearch.jsp
and we have an appointment tomorrow who has all the documentation and is writing a statement letter on our behalf to go to the tribunal.
Its a good website, hope you can find someone near you and see if you qualify for legal aid.
